Who we are looking for

We’re seeking a skilled Senior Platform Engineer (DevOps) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven high-level experience with AWS and Terraform, and hands-on experience with Snowflake and Kubernetes in a professional setting.


Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years in a platform/DevOps/cloud engineering role.

  • Proven experience managing and optimizing environments within AWS, including hybrid or multi-cloud setups.

  • Hands-on experience supporting medium-sized environments (~100+ VMs or services) with complex network topologies, high availability, and self-healing systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with Snowflake as a core data platform.

  • Proven success working for/with enterprise financial or fintech companies either internally or through a consultancy.

  • Ability to work directly with clients to define technical visions, often engaging with non-technical stakeholders.


Technical Skills Requirements

Required

  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services, including:

  • Core services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC).

  • Serverless architecture (Lambda, API Gateway).

  • Networking components (Route 53, ELB, Security Groups, WAF).

  • Monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, CloudTrail).

  • Proficiency with Snowflake, including data modeling, query optimization, and integration.

  • Strong experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines from scratch using tools like AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD.

  • Deep knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform.

  • 1–4 years of experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, AWS ECS, or Fargate.

  • 2–4 years of scripting experience using Bash and/or Python for automation and tooling.

  • Comprehensive understanding of networking concepts in AWS, including VPCs, Direct Connect, VPNs, DNS, firewalls, load balancing, and high availability architectures.

  • Expertise in Git version control workflows (e.g., Git Flow, pull requests) and GitOps principles.

  • Deep understanding of 12-factor applications and best practices for scalable cloud-native architectures.

  • Experience working with RDBMS and NoSQL databases on AWS (e.g., Aurora, DynamoDB).


Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with additional AWS services like SageMaker, Redshift, or Athena.

  • Experience integrating Snowflake with AWS services such as S3, Glue, or Lambda.

  • Additional experience with advanced networking setups or multi-account AWS environments using AWS Control Tower or AWS Organizations.


Soft Skills Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills for client-facing interactions.

  • Eagerness to collaborate, knowledge share, and work independently when needed.


Certifications (Nice to Have)

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer (Professional)

  • Terraform Associate

  • SnowPro Core

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

  • Certified Associate in Python Programming (PCAP)


The Role

  • Designing new systems complete with any necessary diagrams and analysis of recommended technologies.

  • Iterating on established infrastructure and platforms, and creating new infrastructure from the ground up.

  • Analyzing and reporting on root causes of issues and designing solutions to address them.

  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation for your client projects.

  • Code reviewing others’ work via pull requests.

  • Script writing in Bash or Python.

  • Reading and reporting on logs, server monitoring and metrics, and proactively lead action to resolve any issues.

  • Knowledge sharing with both Junior, Mid-Level and Senior Engineers.

  • Executing architecture plans, and providing feedback on timing, problem areas, security and more.

  • Interacting directly with your clients in their environment (VPN, special client hardware, Slack/Teams/WebEx).

  • Designing, detailing and managing tasks for others on the team.

  • Meeting with the clients regularly to provide technical guidance and build out solutions for technical requirements.

What’s the process?

100% remote hiring and onboarding, usually 2-4 weeks between Zoom screen & offer:

  • Zoom screen (15-30 mins)

  • Technical interview (1hr) (no whiteboard coding)

  • Panel interview (1-2 rounds, 1-2hrs)
